  • March 18, 2010 - Maine Section Annual Technical Seminar.  Come and join the Maine Section for an all-day technical seminar focusing on Environmental and Water Resource Engineering topics, including LiDAR mapping of Maine Floodplains, the Kennebunk Flood Mitigation Berm, GIS and Modeling Applications in water resources, Computer Aided Design Tools in Stormwater Modeling, Restoring Fish Passage, and Management of Stormwater from Construction Sites  More info
     

  • March 30, 2010 - Architalx Lecture Series presents five evenings of architecture and design in their 2010 Lecture Series. The Art of Bridge Design: The Best in Integrating Architecture and Engineering.  Meeting locations at the USM Abromson Center and at the Portland Museum of Art.  More Info
     

  • March 31, 2010 - The Northeast Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association, the Maine Nonpoint Source Training and Resource Center will sponsor an exam review course and subsequent exam for land use professionals and others employed in a field involving the control of soil erosion, who would like to become a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). The CPESC exam review course will be conducted on March 31, 2010, in Brewer, at Jeff’s Catering and the exam will be held April 28, 2010, at the same location. More Info

  • The Maine Section designated the Bangor Thomas Hill Standpipe as a State Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 2008.  Additionally, the Section designated the  Portland Observatory as both a State and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 2006.  Did you know that Maine has 9 National Civil Engineering Historic Landmarks?   Check out the History and Heritage page for a list of them and more information about ASCE's Civil Engineering Landmark Program.
  • 2009-10 AWARDS - The Maine Section has been recognized with four awards for activities in the 2009-10 fiscal year:
    • National Outstanding Section or Branch. (Our fourth year in a row receiving this award)
